Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve [Flofilz]

This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of laced eggnog or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal and festive. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…

Today's delivery is brought to you by Flofilz. We started winter with a bang, and when I say bang, I mean a massive blizzard in the Midwest and parts of New England. A blanket of white covers most areas, at least where I live. In times like these, a nice armchair and a crackling fireplace seem like a more than satisfactory environment to get your chill on. What better way to accompany you than some jazz-influenced tracks from Flofilz? Flofilz is relatively unknown to most ears. It appears that he doesn't have a Facebook page, a Twitter account, nothing. Just a SoundCloud page where he uploads hidden nuggets. For us audiophiles at EARMILK, we refuse to let such sounds slip through our fingertips. Flofilz is in a jazzy state of mind, incorporating classic jazz characteristics with modern twists and effects. He often relies on the traditional downtempo/trip-hop beat as the foundation while samples, vocals, pianos, and the like drive each song to a new destination. One of his latest tracks, "Gitdown", kicks things off with an acoustic, improv-styled piano. Shortly, a booming bass kick and a snare enter along with fresh lyrical spitting. It's a fantastic combination that is produced and executed perfectly. Sweep through his other tunes to get your game on with a low-lying, talented producer. So grab that hot chocolate and let Flofilz do his thing. Just chill…

Phillip Yung

The name is Phil. I've been with EARMILK for handful of years now. I love all sorts of music, and I tend to change up what type of music I'm into throughout the year. However, one thing is certain: I love anything chill and mellowed out. A lot of the time, you'll see me covering smooth, chilled out grooves through our infamous Daily 2% series. 80 BPM is love, 80 BPM is life.
