Today's delivery is brought to you by PillowTalk. This San Francisco based trio has recently burst onto the scene with their take on classic tunes of the 50-60's era. But, don't assume you have an idea of what their interpretation might be like because you'll be mistaken. We know many artists have come along and remixed their fair share of the classics but PillowTalk is one of the first groups i've come across take give the classics a "deep-house" injection while still maintaining the funkiness of the originals. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "The Real Thing" which is a rework of "Ain't Nothing Like the Real Thing" from Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell, which was released in the late 60's. I can almost guarantee that if this is your first time hearing of PillowTalk; this track alone will have you exploring their entire catalogue(which you can find on soundcloud) of releases just based on the flawless execution and production value they bring to the table.
