If by now you haven't heard of rap wild-child and style maverick Danny Brown you really need to get from under the rock you've been nesting under. Whether it's original material, grimy remixes of his work or Brown personally adding his signature flow on other artists' work, Danny Brown is damn near everywhere these days and that is by no means a bad thing. The latest dose of the Detroit rhymesayer is in the form of a remix EP, XXX Remixed, crafted by fellow Motor City native Black Noi$e.
The EP features select reworks of standout tracks "Lie4," "Blunt After Blunt," "Rockstar," and my personal favorite "I Will," all of which are from Brown's critically acclaimed album XXX. In addition to those four tracks, the 8-track EP also features instrumental cuts of each remix. It was only a matter of time before someone tackled the material from XXX, which was nice and ripe for remixing. Hats off to Black Noi$e.
