Chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by FROOTFUL. This music project is the brainchild of musician/illustrator Nick Radford who took an early liking to music of the 50's and 60's. He just released his debut LP entitled Colours and his influences are immediately evident but what may surprise you is how many different styles he borrows from. He mixes in funk, r&b, soul, latin, afro-beat and more funk. What you are left with is a full plate and appetite for more. Listening to this album is like watching a really really good movie and immediately wanting to find something exactly like it or very similar but becoming disappointed when your search ends with no payoff. If you are a fan of retro music than I highly suggest checking out the album. Now, the track I'm bringing to you today is called "Slowtime" which really has two acts. The first act is a slow and melodic guitar solo that could easily accompany any slow scene in the next Ocean's sequel or Quentin Tarantino movie. And then the second act features the beautiful vocals of Angeline Morrison who does an elegant job of resurrecting that sultry sound you'd find in some upscale lounge in Miami around the 60's. But, dont get it confused. The song and album borrow from the past but is still given a modern twist worthy of your attention. Enough talk. Check out the track and chill…
