This is your Daily 2% – Chilled and Ready to Serve. We will try to bring you one "chill" track every day. This is for when you get home and you are trying to unwind. You reach for that glass of wine or that unlit Black & Mild or maybe you reach for something more herbal. This track is for those times. We are just your milkmen and I'm here to make a delivery. Chill…
Today's delivery is brought to you by Gregory Isaacs (R.I.P). I know we we picked up a lot of dubstep fans recently, here on EARMILK. But, are there any fans of just straight dub music out there? Electronica and many other genres can have their roots traced back to dub music that came out of Jamaica. That's when sound engineers would tinker with electronics until they start producing sounds you wouldn't quite expect but still making them chill over all. The last Daily 2% track was reggae so I'm keeping the streak going with today's track. The track is called "Slum" which is from the album Slum In Dub which came out way back in 1978.The mixing engineer for the album is Prince Jammy who is considered one of the early pioneers of Dub. It really should be considered a Prince Jammy track considering how there aren't really any Gregory vocals but it's a good track regardless. Check out the track and chill….
