Say Hello: The Lytics

The definition of a perfect morning for mwah is a cup of coffee(3 creams, 2 sugars), a cigarette, and getting an email with new music that after hearing 10 seconds of it.. entices me to the point where I need to hear more. The Lytics (a name derived from a contraction of "analytic") hail from Manitoba, Canada and are composed of 3 emcees (Ashy, A-Nice, Munga), their producer B-flat, and DJ Action Rick. Their sound and delivery reminds me of  an obviously younger version of Souls of Mischief with a more hip"pop" approach. With influences like A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, Souls of Mischief, Arrested Development, and The Pharcyde, it should come as no surprise that The Lytics believe in maintaining a positive outlook, both in their music and in their lives.

It's been said over and over, especially now, that production in hip-hop right now is super crucial and Alex 'B-Flat' Sannie doesn't disappoint with delivering some of the most infectious beats I've heard recently. "Big City Soundgirl" is the first single off their recently released self-entitled debut album, which we were graced with.. along with a few other amazing tracks that I included below. So check out some GOOD music and enjoy:
