Piknic Electronik is running from May 21st to September 24th, every Sunday from the start of summer to the start of the school year. The summer is a special occasion since there is a new location, it's the 15th season of the festival, and the 375th anniversary of Montreal.
The line up launches serious Montreal talent and international support across all four months. Highlights include the opening weekend, May 21st and May 22nd, with Maus b2b Mightykat and Tiga b2b Jacques Greene, all four being local talent. Other global bookings include Seth Troxler (US), Roman Flügel (DE), Nicole Moudaber (GB), Chloé (FR), Chus + Cebabllos (ES), Motor City Drum Ensemble (US), and more.
Pascal Lefebvre, the president and co-founder of Piknic, publically states,
" We're thrilled to be able to make our new home in such a magnificent green space, and to create a new venue allowing us to reinvent Piknic. This also provides the possibility to experiment with and elaborate new concepts with a strong potential for international development, and to welcome other outdoor events throughout the summer season."
The alternative green space for Piknic Electronik should provide a different environment that people will definitely get accustomed too. The former part of the park is undergoing construction for the 375th anniversary of Montreal. The new site is nicely situated between the water and the biosphere. Piknic Electronik can also be found in Melbourne, Dubai, Santiago, and more cities continually growing.
