Madison Wisconsin-based alternative rock/shoegaze duo Yolk weaves an emotional and immersive experience on "Amber," tapping into the denial of reality and determination that it takes to pursue an impossible dream.
An allegorical story told from the perspective of a prince whose kingdom is at war with a neighboring realm, the track unfurls an intriguing, cinematic narrative about true love, destiny and heartbreak. Messy, vulnerable and fantastical, the desperation of "Amber" transitions into the painful process of letting go and moving on in following track "I Am Pulling The Strings Apart."
Speaking of the track, the band says, "We hope listeners feel absorbed in both the emotional and artistic experience within these songs. “Amber” and “I Am Pulling The Strings Apart” are the most experimental pieces of music we’ve released on streaming to date. Inspired by concept-driven works like Magdalena Bay’s “Imaginal Disk” and Pink Floyd’s “The Wall”, we wanted them to feel immersive, almost like stepping into another world."
