Acclaimed German singer-songwriter and musician Rudi Burke has just unleashed his latest musical gem. Entitled “Red, dead Ladybugs”, the track is the first taste off of his forthcoming debut album Beauty Left Within, which is set for release later this year.
With “Red, dead Ladybugs”, Rudi Burke pens an emotive and poignant track about a moment in time that has led him to creativity and contemplation. On a cold and stormy winter morning, the artist saw two dead little ladybugs on his windowsill. The image struck him as he thought about how those little creatures endured so much until they died from the winter. This thought and reflection gave purpose to his new single and reminded him and us all of the cycle of life, existence and ultimate death. Lyrics including, "Morning rituals interrupted, my windowsill covered with dead ladybugs / Once they were flying / They tried so hard to keep up," show this narrative. Musically, “Red, dead Ladybugs” impresses with stacked acoustic guitars, upbeat harmonica and passionate vocals. The folk-rock tune features authentic sing-a-long worthy melodies that are cathartic and impassioned.
Drawing influence from artistic visionaries including Brian Fallon, Jason Isbell, Tom Petty, Jim Croce, J Mascis, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Robert Earl Keen, Rudi Burke creates his own unique and fresh sound. With more music on the way, we can't wait to hear what is next from this folk rock riser. Take a listen to “Red, dead Ladybugs” now and add the track to your favorite playlist!
