[Video] BUNNIES share visceral visuals for kaleidoscopic track "Homunculus"

Pysch art-punk, noise rock band BUNNIES continue to tap into an intoxicating yet weird sonic space on their latest LP Horror Spectrum, an art-rock collection laden with psychedelic textures and expansive sonic terrains.

Eerie and alluring all at once, the project dives into the deepest darkest chasms of a tortured soul, delivering a simmering exploration of evils laden with experimental artistry. The fractured complexity at the core of the LP is best captured by “Homunculus,” a kaleidoscopic number written with questions of modern-day morality, corruption, and depravity at its centre.

Swaying between sophisticated art rock, noise-tinted post-punk, and experimental spoken word, the soundscape for “Homunculus,” is abrasive yet crisp as it reflects on judgement, spectatorship, manipulation, all with chilling self-awareness.One of the first songs developed for the project, the discomforting production deepens with twisted imagery blurs the lines between dream and reality. The vivid sonics are elevated my ambitious visuals that dissect the implications of “evil” that the song attempts to question.

Directed by Piper Preston, a fellow member of the buzzing Western Mass scene, the video presents the band in full glory, masked with ghostly swipes of face paint, before an influx of unnerving images shadowed by a disruptive yet hypnotic haze adds life to the musically chaos unfolding ahead of us.

Carefully crafted and detailed, the video has been designed to elicit a visceral reaction with a cinematic flair that intrigues us to keep watching. Laden with fear and fascination in equal parts that visuals and track are euphoric and perplexing all at once – leaving us surprisingly wanting more.

Having bewitched mainstream and underground enthusiasts with their eccentric balance of chaos with calculation for over two decades, the BUNNIES continue to establish themselves as a magnetic act whose otherworldly soundscapes push the boundaries of musical imagination.
