British-Nigerian female rapper DEELA is setting her own standards as she shares the visuals for her previously released single, "GET A GRIP." The track is a showcase of confidence in who she is as she states what she wants without any restraints. Backed by an atmospheric and bass-heavy backdrop, she delivers a sultry performance ripe with bold lyrics like " I deserve the world, not you/cos you know that I move on and got no time to waste." As the title suggests, it dwells on her living her best life and imploring anyone trying to waste her time to not even bother coming close to her. For the most part, her influences (Flo Milli, Nicki Minaj, et al) can be heard in the way she delivers her lines but she still has her unique flavor with her no holds barred energy and hearty demeanor.
The visual is quite engaging and employs a mix of bright and dark aesthetics that show two different sides of the rapper. The dark portions have more of a street-edgy vibe while the bright scenes are more sensual and also capture her classy sexy style. DEELA is a Lagos-born, UK-based rapper who started out by dropping songs on SoundCloud before releasing her debut EP. She is currently signed to the distribution label DMY Artists.
