This has been a good week for fans of the Ipswich, England producer, S. Maharba. Just yesterday he released the extended version of "French Maid", a track churning with grit and dripping with psychedelic instrumentals. The track first surfaced in 2008 on Marhaba's independently released, self-titled LP but yesterday his label, BTS Records made the extended version available on a limited edition 12" vinyl, replete with a remix by The Clonious on the flipside.

And last week Dropping Gems, the other-world beatmaking collective, enlisted the work of their members and friends for Gem Drops II, a 20-track compilation of what they deem, "an electric melange of uptempo and downtempo jams, hazy dream melodies, and space station future-flights." In addition to Maharba, Mndsgn, Daedalus, and LDFD are among the list of forward-thinking contributors.
