As genres shoot off into new and interesting directions, it's always fascinating to watch the new wave of artists reinterpret ideas lifted from their inspirations. As technology becomes more accessible, the cyclical nature of this is becoming much shorter and you have artists basing much of their sound on still very current albums. Like Tyler, The Creator's "Flower Boy" encouraged an influx of artists creating music that sits in a certain sweet spot, Porter Robinson's 2014 modern classic "Worlds" took artists in a specific direction too. Citing the dystopian futuristic universe created by "Worlds" as a huge source of inspiration, anonymous and enigmatic producer juuku pays homage by flipping the anthemic "Sad Machine".

"Porter has been such an inspiration to me and many and I have always been afraid to put my own interpretation on one of his songs," juuku shared with EARMILK via email, noting the apprehensiveness that came with the desire to return the same calibre to the track. Leading on to state, "about a month ago something inside told me it was time, and I was able to make something I was truly proud of. The song, along with it’s visual, represents me re-discovering a world that I felt was lost and destroyed, and realizing that that world lives on in other ways than physical."

The remix, which was first teased on a guest mix for Benzi's show for SiriusXM & Diplo's Revolution, matches Porter's feature-film scope for grandiose soundscapes and reroutes it in a formidable new direction. Bone-rattling bass collides with a chaotic harmony of synth melodies and hits, forming an apocalyptic sound that wouldn't be out of place soundtracking a blood-pumping sci-fi epic.
