Following a split EP with Octo Octa, Eris Drew has dropped her first ever solo EP via Interdimensional Transmissions,  and it’s everything we hoped for and more. Having previously stated “I am, and always will be, a raver”, Drew’s three-track EP explores house and breakbeat – in the raviest manner possible, of course.

Renowned for her energy behind the decks, love for the music and culture, and knowing how to get a dancefloor moving better than anyone else in the business, Fluids of Emotion is one of the most hotly anticipated releases in recent times. “Fluids of Emotion” encapsulates the bliss of dance music like few other tracks have managed. An infectious bassline, soothing vocals, and that signature Drew scratch which instantly marks her territory; anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of witnessing her DJ could quite easily hazard a guess that this track is hers. Whilst many DJs produce tracks which are completely different to what they might play in a set, this just feels so her.

The EP’s second track, “Transcendental Access Point” is elated, feel good house music done perfectly. Filled with blissful melodies, and vocals which reflect Drew’s open and positive thoughts about the relationship between psychedelics and music, it’s refreshing to hear music which is so revealing about the artist – particularly in this genre. Music that’s not only slightly insightful, but that makes you want to get up and dance? What can’t she do!

Those who have listened to Drew play before will know her distinctive style a mile off. “So Much Love To Give” gives new listeners the opportunity to see what she’s all about from the get-go. Opening with a weighty breakbeat before transcending into euphoria, vocals, and just a few more breaks for good measure, it’s easy to picture this track playing towards the end of the night, as the sun is beginning to poke through the windows. Fluids of Emotion is a release which will be remembered for years to come; the fact that it is her first solo EP makes everything about it even more impressive. It’s everything that one might associate with Eris Drew and the music she plays, rolled into three tracks.

Fluids of Emotion can be streamed via Spotify and purchased via Bandcamp.
