Brame & Hamo's newest release, "It's Time To," is out just in time to save everyone from the post-Christmas, pre-New Year’s black hole. Out on Maceo Plex’s Ellum label, the release, which features Anthony Acid, contains the original version as well as a remix by Steffi, offering two very different yet equally enticing versions of the track.
Following a variety of hugely popular releases since 2017, “It’s Time To” is Brame & Hamo’s most highly anticipated release to date. When “Space Dub” was included in Maceo Plex’s "fabric 98" mix, it was only a matter of time before the pair were set to release something on his label. Having recently released music on Feel My Bicep, as well as their own label, these two are no strangers to the production booth. With a distinctly funky bassline and simple, yet very effective vocals, “It’s Time To” is easygoing, fun and memorable. The track feels like a perfect way to bridge the gap between house and techno; it’s not too much, but it’s also not boring, which can be a difficult balance to reach.
Steffi’s remix gives the tune a more club-ready feel. It’s slightly quicker, has a bouncier bass line, and while it cuts back heavily on the vocals, it all comes together to make a really great and extremely lighthearted track. An experienced DJ and producer, as well as being an infamous Panorama Bar resident, Steffi’s remix of an already impressive tune gives it the edge it needs to get to the next level.
