Elderbrook and Rudimental join forces for "Something About You"

Red-hot musician and producer Elderbrook has linked up with English electronic outfit Rudimental for "Something About You," a beautiful downtempo dance record released via Atlantic Records UK.

"Something About You" brilliantly toes the line between bubbly and mesmerizing, consistently churning to a hypnotic 107 BPM while oscillating between the euphoric highs of Rudimental's horns and the aching melancholy of Elderbrook's vocals. The song's chorus is uplifting and packs a poignant punch, highlighted by the intoxicating trumpet stylings that have become a signature of Rudimental's sound. Its lyrics, which Elderbrook croons with a feathery touch a-la RÜFÜS DU SOL, are equal parts brooding and sanguine: "There's something about you / Keeping me sober / I was drowning in the moment / But now I'm holding onto you."

With its melodic pop sensibilities, "Something About You" is a stark contrast to Elderbrook's breakthrough single "Cola," the sultry house collaboration with CamelPhat that was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2017 Grammy Awards. In a press release issued for the single, Elderbrook spoke glowingly about his experience working with Rudimental. "I've always loved the music and energy that Rudimental put out," he said. "This song wouldn't have happened without them and [it] has been amazing collaborating with them!"

Elderbrook and Rudimental have also released the official video for the track, which stars Michael Socha of the hit HBO drama Chernobyl.
