After sharing the hypnotic love-laden single "Time 4 You" earlier this month, Iiiso returns with his new 5 track EP titled 'Above Love'. Just as the title suggests, the project dwells on the mechanics and unpredictable dynamics of being in a relationship. The entire project was produced by HushdeGod whose ethereal textures add a sublime touch to Iiiso's reflective lyrics and subject matter that alternates between looking outward at the person he loves and inward at his own demons
The opening track "Time 4 You," celebrates the restorative powers of being in love, with iiiso utilizing a melodic style flow to great effect as he deliberates on his girl loving him despite all of his regret and shame. Other tracks, like the video game-esque sounding"Homeostasis", recognize that the storm is never far away, as iiiso wonders if he will ever reach the kind of emotional consistency and mental health his partner deserves.
The final two tracks see iiiso conquering inner demons. On the upbeat finale, "How You Like That," he is even defiant. Over Hush's slick trap beat, iiiso's rapping and lyrical skills are on full display as he spits daggers at the obstacles and events that have threatened to hold him back in life and in love.
'Above Love' manages to cover a wide spectrum of emotions as Iiiso's aim was to make songs that allow the producer to shine, using introspective, love-centered lyrics and laid-back vocal melodies to accentuate producer HushDeGod’s unique musical style and atmospheric beats.
