Lauran Hibberd's charming humour isn't gone in newest single "Hoochie"

When we last heard from the cheeky indie pop sensation Lauran Hibberd, she was holding auditions for her "Sugardaddy" in a playfully satirical anthem for the financially troubled. Now having finished her supporting US/UK tour with Hippo Campus, Hibberd is bringing back her charismatically honest brand of slacker-pop with her newest single "Hoochie."

Mixing in that signature tongue-in-cheek demeanour with a voice aged with sophistication, Hibberd delivers a punchy rock anthem for the dazed but not confused. Sharing the meaning behind this track, Hibberd points out that "Hoochie" is "kind of that three-month period, after you've stopped hanging out with someone and you realize that they were kind of a tool, and maybe you are alright. I think there's a confidence in the track lyrically that I'm yet to filter through to my actual life."

Despite this hard-to-believe lack of confidence in her personal life, Hibberd is magnetizing with her music, exposing real everyday struggles and thoughts with uniquely humorous lyrics and contemporary grungy guitar riffs. This year, Hibberd will hit a new milestone with her first festival appearances (Live at Leeds, Hit the North) and a slot on the BBC Introducing Stage at this year's Glastonbury Festival.
