New York City R&B duo LION BABE capture the essence of the 80s, while masterfully incorporating a modern flare in their latest single "Western World' featuring legendary Wu-Tang Clan member Raekon.
This latest release is a unique and creative tribute to the 1984 hit "West End Girls" by the Pet Shop Boys. "Western World" exudes electric funk with its prominent guitar, drums, and tambourine instrumentals, beautifully accompanied with sensual vocals. Comprised of singer-songwriter Jillian Hervey and record producer Lucas Goodman, LION BABE touches on the everyday stressors that currently plague society, "In a western town, a western world. It's hard to find some peace. In the middle of the night, she's on her phone. She can't miss what they say".
Additionally, Raekon's feature adds an unexpected twist of old school hip hop to the track. He sheds light on how isolating and superficial the world can be, especially when one is consumed with continuously striving to attain deemed success.
The release of this single prefaces their announced sophomore LP 'Cosmic Wind', out March 29th. At this time, LION BABE has no upcoming shows.
