East England grunge-pop outfit The Glitter Shop display their raucous energy in their latest single "Throwing Apples".
Intertwining indie hints and jazzy keys, "Throwing Apples" is a well-polished piece of DIY grunge. Twisting melodious guitar twangs with an infectious drum beat, the track captures the same vigour as early Wolf Alice releases.
Incorporating elements of new-wave, the British trio – consisting of vocalists/bassist Harry Dale, keyboardist Ruby Smith and guitarist Barny Cutter – are ones to keep a close eye on in the upcoming years. Creating a unique blend of grunge and indie with a whisper of pop, The Glitter Shop are soon to be on every industry head's radar.
Accoridng to lead singer Harry Dale, the track is about "an incident involving apples being thrown at lorries and smashing windows when I was a kid. Even though I didn't actually throw any apples myself, I felt guilty for just being there when it happened. The song is about the guilt I feel for things that don't matter anymore or the silly things I said years ago."
