Hard-hitting Dublin rockers Fontaines D.C. have released their latest single 'Big', the lead single from their upcoming album Dogrel released this April.
Tracking the band through their childhood and glimpsing into a hopeful future, 'Big' is a snappy punk rock tune filled with indie licks and angst-ridden vocals from frontman Grian Chatten. Snarling "my childhood was small, but I'm gonna be big", Chatten is a poetically riotous vocalist, declaring their intentions to seize every opportunity that comes their way.
Drawing on inspiration from their hometown, Dublin is a key theme throughout the upcoming record. Capturing their hard-working roots, the band tweeted: "Dogrel is a crude, traditionally working-class form of verse historically looked down upon by literary critics."
Despite first appearing as a chaotic insight into the emotions as modern rock and roll band, the quintet have perfected their rough-around-the-edges sound and continue to build a fanbase that will see the conquer the world. Fontaines D.C. are quite literally 'gonna be big'.
