Brighton up-and-comers Safe To Swim are back with third single “Friends”. Out the gates with an alluring guitar riff, the single doesn’t waste time, picking up the pace and carrying me through to an intensely addictive chorus.

The band, made up of frontman Jim Filippides, guitarist George Rawlings, bassist George Ingledew and drummer Joe Dennis, are gearing up for their debut EP, due Spring 2019. “Friends” follows previous singles “Struggling” and “Boyfriend”.

“Friends” is one of those songs that catches you immediately. It's a perfect mix of instrumentals and Filippides strong vocals. It makes for a truly good addition to the indie genre. As for its origins, this single came into being after a conversation Filippides had:

“It was inspired after speaking to a couple of my friends who had tragically lost someone very close to them. Based from what I was told, the song was born.”

The single officially drops November 2nd on Spotify and other streaming platforms. Safe To Swim are celebrating “Friends”with a single launch on November 7th at Brighton’s Green Door Store.

Based in Toronto but my mind is always somewhere else. I like coffee, a good banjo solo, and binge-watching British TV shows.
