Dua Lipa began building her music career in London a number of years ago, and just in the past year the pop singer has become a sensation. Her first massive single "New Rules" has over 1.4 billion views on YouTube and she already has notable collaborations with both Calvin Harris and Martin Garrix under her belt. With the arrival of "Electricity," Lipa can now add Diplo and Mark Ronson's collaborative dance project, Silk City, to that impressive list as well.
Diplo and Ronson's production on"Electricity" showcases Dua Lipa's expertise in the contemporary pop space, with evident dancehall influences. Geniuses in their craft, the two producers are able to schedule vocal manipulations and smooth builds seamlessly throughout the track, finding a balance in keeping the track fresh while avoiding oversaturation. Lipa's distinct tone beams while Silk City's meticulous production creates sparks.
"Electricity" is Diplo and Ronson's fourth single together as Silk City, following up collaborations with Mapei, GoldLink, and Desiigner. The duo have yet to provide any information about where this project is going in the future, in terms of a possible full-length album or tour, although they previously performed a live set at Governor's Ball in New York earlier this Summer.
