The two singers of Swedish trio Vivii met as childhood sweethearts. After they met their third member, Anders Eckeborn, they began to weave a tale of their relationship and history into their debut EP Savant.
Savant is shimmery dream-pop with a touch of something more mellow. It's incredibly heartfelt and heavy on emotion, but also clean and clear. On the most subdued track, entitled "Some Other Time," there is a distinct Lana Del Rey vibe to the vocal. The hidden gem of the EP is "Siv (You & I)," the first single they released from the EP. Of the track, the group says:
We had this babysitter called Siv who looked after our kids for quite some while, but she passed away two years ago. She had an old zither she played in the church, and when she passed she left it to us. This is the first song we wrote on that zither – that's why it's called 'Siv'. It's a hymn for her.
