The Stash Sounds Project unleash their latest in the form of this heavy street banger titled "Street Compatible".
The record sees underground luminary D.R.E.W. (Dope Rhymes Echo Worldwide) teaming up with famed battle rapper Tenchoo for a tandem of gully rhymes over an equally gritty backdrop. With ApolloMakingBeats handling the production, we get a hard hitting gem built off a classic sample Wu fans should be able to recognize but if you can't, well do your homework. On the lyrics side of things, D.R.E.W. kicks off with his trademark slow flow and crafty rhymes like "...The short shelf make me guard my mental health /Until these well-formed elements melt you'll need help /Like the Beatles, do this for my peoples who ain't treated as equals / Taken out by weapons that are lethal, losing battles that's legal..." This is followed a few seconds later by Tenchoo who shows why he is feared amongst his peers when it comes to vivid, in your face type quotable verbal darts such as "...I ain’t textbook, ya breath took, stimuli / Flow best put, couple left hooks, swing a right /Superwoman cooking up my dish tonight / My penis is her weakness, my dick made of kryptonite!" The chorus comes in last to wrap things up with cuts & scratches courtesy of Fidel Cutstro. No gimmicks just two dope emcees over a dope beat.
The video was filmed and directed by Bobby Giggz who brings the duo back into the pure hip-hop aesthetic.Nothing fancy or mind-blowing but just enough smoothness to showcase the true school nature of the song in question. D.R.E.W. started his rap career in 1988 and has been putting in work since. He was part of the UK rap group 35 Above garnering attention and respect throughout the UK’s underground hip-hop movement. He is also the founder of One Shoe Records, an independent label that supports talented rap artists worldwide.
