If we ever needed a medium to remind us that "big room" or "progressive house" are still relevant terms we can turn to DJ, producer and Tom Tyger. The French artist has kept us in check over the years, Tyger has sent out melody-driven, high energy tracks that pack the punch of progressive's height in the 2010, while keeping a contemporary, house-driven sound. His latest, a collaboration with Italian trio FaderX does just that, and gives our subconscious a moment to come out and say what it's been wanting all along: "Rave Me."
"Rave Me" sees Tyger return to the label that always seems to welcome him home at Protocol Recordings, and brings acidic synth progression together with a house beat in a way that feels effortless (and a signature for Protocol). In a world of artists trying too hard to bridge the gap between electronic music made for the radio and that made for the fans, this one accomplishes what it's supposed to, and will make you excited for your next night out.
