Roddy Reynaert's sound just gets better with time. After signing with Anjunabeats to launch his career in 2010, Reynaert has cultivated a sound that goes beyond the "progressive" sound its labeled as. His latest EP is an example of that, released via Ifonika Recordings earlier this month. Entitled Hashtag / Hummer, it includes two eponymous tracks that stand on their own. Uplifting, intriguing with their blend of tech and prog, Reynaert impresses with his ability to stick to an appealing sound while interjecting surprises along the way. Especially in the world of progressive, it feels like there are only a few camps to live in – the 2.0 camp and the Eric Prydz camp – and Reynaert has created a world all his own.
Hashtag / Hummer is streaming on SoundCloud and available via Beatport, for now.
