Reid Speed is a bad bitch. The drum and bass DJ has been the queen of bass music for over a decade through her popular mixes and Beatport chart-topping tracks. She also co-founded Play Me Records back in 2009, which ushered in the North American bass movement, and has received critical acclaim for its releases and signed artists. She can't stop and won't be stopped. Her momentum continues with the release of her new single "Animal" with guest vocalist Burnheart.
The track is pure girl power. "Animal" is described as a "vocal-driven trap, drum & bass hybrid" and it certainly fits the description. The song opens on a light note, mostly driven by synths, with Burnheart's vocals kicking everything off. The vocals become distorted with drums building up into a trap-inspired drop that moves easily into the drum & bass portion. "Animal" reflects Reid Speed's renegade character and unrelenting work ethic. Like I said before, she's a bad b*tch and seeing what she does next is going to be exciting.
