As a huge sucker for anything cinematic and nostalgic, when I discovered Christine was releasing a full-length Atom of Heart, I was more than ecstatic. If Christine isn't a name you're familiar with, it's time to do some deep listening into their discography. The French synth-pop duo's signature style shines transparently in this latest album. Imagine a sonic rendition of Knight Rider, with a dash of spunky 80's influence and a sinister tech house twist. Christine's sound and branding are not only properly executed, but makes an impactful impression on listeners whether they're huge French touch buffs or are only recently discovering the style.

The entirety of Atom of Heart is to say the least theatrical and enticing in its cinematic tones. The album's sound is expansive, extracting influences from varying genres. "Over the Top" has got that classic nu-disco funk, set to be successful for the dancefloor. The album is additionally riddled in subtle hip-hop influence over darker and grimy bass-lines in "Error 218" and "Drama". With subtle impressions of neo-noir, an urban attitude and a style to cater to the nocturnal crowd, Atom of Heart is an impressive work of art with a timeless sound.
