If seeing Vic Mensa in lipstick and eyeliner doesn't indicate to you that he's not concerned with your opinion of him, then the bars on his newest freestyle, "Heathens", will. The Chicago native and SAVEMONEY member has been vocal on social issues but quiet on the music front since dropping his EP, There's Alot Going On, back in June, when he subsequently announced that his highly anticipated, but yet to be released, album Traffic had been scrapped in lieu of another, more personal project. However, that silence has been broken with this curveball of a track, where Vic proves that freestyling over a Twenty One Pilots instrumental can, in fact, be done. "Heathens" is three minutes of nothing but straight-to-the-point spitting, with moments of both cleverness and unapologetic introspection.
