Debut album incoming from none other than Cassy. During her career spanning over a decade behind the decks, she's taken the world over with her sound, from Panorama Bar to DC-10. She's produced countless EPs in the process, but it isn't until now that Cassy Britton has decided to piece together a long player. Donna arrives next month on Will Saul's referred Aus Music label.
Cassy sings on some of the 12 tracks that make up her first full-length, including a cover of Prince's "Strange Relationship" recorded last year, which you can listen in on here. There are stand-alone tracks with no vocals that take on her techno and left-field leaning style, heard on already-revealed material "Route To Thoron."
Donna was formed off the back of a testing time for the half-Austrian, half-Barbadian. “I had broken up with my husband, left Berlin, my friends and a way of making music and of living life,” Cassy explains. “It was too painful to make music. I tried singing and it felt awful. Music producing was out of the question." Cassy found new inspiration from her newborn son and partner.
Donna is set for release on Aus Music on June 24th.
