Rudimental's "Common Emotion" with MNEK gets a remix EP [Premiere]

It's been a few months since Rudimental's sophomore album debuted, but it continues to be a gift that keeps on giving. We The Generation gave the UK live electronic and pop group multiple hit singles including their collaboration "Blood Stream" with Ed Sheeran, and "Rumour Mill" with Anne-Marie and Will Heard. This week, we have another taste of a later single from the album, "Common Emotion" whose remix EP comes out this Friday via Major Tom / Big Beat Records.

"Common Emotion" features fellow British artist, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, record producer and remixer MNEK. The original calls on groovy R&B and funk-inspired soul, with MNEK's sexy vocals paired with a sultry bassline. The remix EP will include two remixes of the original, both employing their own new vision.

The first comes from New York City's Jenaux, whose crossover house pop tracks have helped him become acutely in control of catchy melody since his start. But he's taken a different approach with "Common Emotion," bringing in futuristic synths and funky guitar to play off MNEK's swag. The second remix is from Brooklyn's curly-haired duo The Golden Pony, who have transformed "Common Emotion" into an danceable, uplifting, seductive track drawing on 1990's dance appeal. One thing's for sure, though: MNEK's vocals shine throughout both remixes.

The Common Emotion remix EP comes out ahead of Rudimental's tour alongside Gorgon City, which will hit five US cities throughout May 2016 and with tickets available here.
