I'm sure you've been keeping up to date with whats happening with The xx, the London quartet featuring the lead vocals of the sexy sonic seductress Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim (who also play lead guitar and bass guitar respectively). Backing up these shadowy figure is Baria Qureshi (keyboards and guitar) and Jamie Smith (beats, MPC sampler).
First plays came a month ago or so, and I keep on going back for more. 'Shelter' just never seems to get old as it brings back the colour of older Portishead with the flavour of dark cup of java. This track is only the glimmering tip of what The xx is.
They are currently on tour in Europe (Britain and Germany) but I suspect after the release of their album (Aug. 17) they will hit the north american mainland for some shows near you. (Current tourdates listed below)
I've searched far and wide to bring you something comprehensive so if you see someone missing (or created something ;)) contact us at hello [at] earmilk [dot] com
