Slushii releases "In My Head" remix with support from marshmello

Who doesn't love a dash of mystery to spice up their every day life? This unforeseen hype and concept of unknown identity was certainly key to marshmello's success in the electronic world. Marshmello's career boomed with immediate hype following several releases from huge game players in the scene including Skrillex, Kayliox, JAUZ and Dotcom. Since then, the still unidentified producer has been on his own headlining tour and is a regular pal to substantial names in the LA electronic scene. Grabbing our attention as another marshmello-style rise to fame, producer slushii, certainly has hold to a potential growing spotlight.

Slushii is not new to music and already has some original tracks and remixes floating in internet space. "Destiny" was released two weeks ago, with unique melodic future bass sound and mesmerizing vocoding effect. Earlier in January, the producer also dropped a perky remix of Botnek and I See MONSTAS "Deeper Love", now removed from SoundCloud. According to their SoundCloud page, slushii, the producer can be identified as Julian S. The relatively unknown producer states "LA to Tokyo" as their location, and has released two tracks in less than 24 hours with full support from marshmello. His remix of Kaskade's "Disarm You" was already released four months ago but only recently uploaded to SoundCloud. The remix is a flurry of hollow synth punches and vocal warping to create for a distinct future bass feel to the track.

Today, slushii has unveiled a remix of Galantis hit "In My Head", reposted by marshmello and soon after by Brillz. The track is loaded with exuberance and is a gritty dubstep take on the melodic dance original. The anticipation of the drop in the track hits unexpectedly and goes hard in the paint as jarring in juxtaposition to the delicate vocals. The wobbly jabs and penetrative bass create for a dirty reinterpretation, drastically opposite from the bright and pop-infused Galantis original. Soon after the track went live marshmello showed his excitement for the producer, tweeting "Calling it now that @SlushiiMusic is going to be big #joytimecollective". Could this be marshmello's subtle way of giving back to the community for his own success (this is assuming marshmello also began as an underdog)? The promising artist has a large amount of production featured on his website. Exhibiting both future bass and more melodic tastes in conjunction with harder dubstep wubs, slushii's career seems to be on the verge for take off.

Listen to the two new tracks below and follow the producer to see what material is released next.

an ideal day consists of wandering a korean supermarket for cutely packaged snacks, stumbling upon instagram worthy neon signage, concluded with me drowning in several down blankets & obsessively sifting soundcloud to find a track that suitably fits my mood.
