Electronic and house music pioneer and veteran Ferry Corsten has a big announcement today. Throughout his career, he's made a mark in the dance music industry through trance, big room progressive, and as a personalty and figure involved in collaborative projects – New World Punx with Markus Schulz being the latest. But earlier on in his career, he was also a part of a formative brand in the trance community, Gouryella, a project started with superstar Tiesto back in 1999 during a moment of electronic music's growing popularity.
In 2013, the duo's self-titled track that started it all was resurrected by a campaign to get the track back at its original number 1 spot atop the Beatport Trance Top 100 chart, with all proceeds from the sales going to charity. Trance fans assembled making that intent come to fruition, and suddenly, Gouryella was back on the map.
But after the viral campaign, there wasn't any new music to speak to. That is, until Ferry Corsten revived the Gouryella brand to release its first new music in 13 years with the release of "Anahera." A scintillating, uplifting track, it was only the beginning, as Corsten will set out to continue releasing new music under Gouryella, and, to fans delight, go on tour.
