Kino Todo delivers peak-Time release with “ICON,” in-collaboration with Marko East and TRUTH

Yair Raviv, known professionally as Kino Todo, has built a global reputation by resisting easy categorization. Raised just outside Tel Aviv and immersed in rhythm from an early age, the DJ and producer emerged through the city’s underground with a cross-cultural, groove-driven sound that prioritizes instinct over trend. His breakout single “Gidafi Na”, a multilingual, kaleidoscopic track built from a spontaneous studio moment, has amassed over 10 million streams and helped position Kino Todo as one of indie dance and electronic music’s most distinctive voices. With releases on labels including Life and Death, Disco Halal, City Slang, and Multi Culti, and support from artists spanning Polo & Pan to Solomon and BLOND:ISH, Kino Todo now returns with “ICON,” a new collaboration with Marko East and vocalist TRUTH that reinforces his connection to the dancefloor at its most explosive.

The foundations of “ICON” were laid in Tel Aviv during a session that quickly revealed its potential. “The idea started at Marko’s place,” Kino explains. “We were playing with a break synth that immediately grabbed our attention.” From there, the track took shape organically. “We built the beat and even tested it with a Missy Elliott acapella just to feel the direction.” That experiment clarified what the record required next: a vocal presence that could match the track’s intensity and attitude.

That search led Kino to TRUTH. “I wanted a vocal with similar energy, so I searched online, found TRUTH and reached out to her,” he says. Though the collaboration unfolded entirely remotely, the result felt immediately assured. “She delivered something amazing. She is incredibly talented.” Her performance gives “ICON” its defining moment, a vocal drop designed to lock a room into motion.

The track’s impact crystallized when Kino tested it in public. “I played it at Sound in Los Angeles, and that was the moment I understood how strong it is on a dancefloor,” he recalls. “The entire room exploded the second the vocal came in, and it felt like everyone moved together.” It’s a reaction that confirms the track’s purpose: collective release through rhythm and tension.

Despite the scale the record reaches in a club, Kino’s production process remains intentionally minimal. “I work completely in the box, so everything is digital,” he says. “Laptop, headphones and a good coffee. That is my whole setup.” The simplicity allows ideas to move quickly, without friction or distraction.

Looking ahead, ambition is firmly fixed on both releases and stages yet to come. “Kappa Futur would be a dream for me one day,” Kino says. “The atmosphere and energy of the festival are incredible.” That forward momentum continues into the coming year. “2026 is full of exciting releases. I have never put out this much music in such a short time,” he notes, pointing in particular to an upcoming collaboration. “I am especially excited about a collaboration with DJ Tennis that I really believe in.”

Reflecting on recent milestones, 2025 marked a significant chapter. “My US tour was a huge highlight,” Kino says. “Playing in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York was incredible, and every show felt powerful in its own way.” He also points to the release of Lovers Walk with Braidy as a defining moment: “The reaction to that track was amazing, and it marked a really special moment in my year.”

With “ICON,” Kino Todo delivers a track that distils his strengths… intuition, connection, and release – while pointing toward an increasingly prolific period ahead.
