Did you picture the future to have flying cars, monochromatic jumpsuits, and tube system of travel? So did LA based synth-pop outfit YACHT, or so we assume. The latest album, I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler, is their commentary on the state of the 21st century, and how it has failed to meet their expectations. The album is a blistering array of influences that blend perfectly into one narrative while showcasing the band’s musical diversity.
In the past, great artists like TOKiMONSTA and RAC have remixed YACHT, and today we want to give you the same opportunity. In celebration of the album’s release, EARMILK has teamed up with Downtown Records to give one lucky producer the chance to remix the title track, “I Thought The Future Would Be Cooler.” You can find the stems listed below for you to remix, and on Nov. 5th at 11:59pm EST, the contest will close. The following day, the person with the most outstanding remix will be selected, and will receive a profile and premiere of his or her work on EARMILK!
