We first stumbled across Wiwek in the summer of last year, when he put out the much-lauded Mixmash Records track "Intimi" with fellow countryman Gregor Salto. Since then, the young Dutch DJ and producer has plowed on with his passion, having released on some of dance music's most venerated labels, including Rising Music, Musical Freedom, and Mad Decent. Two months back he put out his Jungle Terror EP, a four-track exploration of dancehall-inspired works that saw Wiwek continue dominating the scene by bringing his variety to an often generic industry.
As a prelude to his forthcoming track "Ground Shake", which is slated to hit outlets on December 2nd via Mad Decent, Wiwek has partnered with the esteemed imprint to share this free download. "Ragga" wastes no time getting to the point, starting with ensnaring drum work that soon receives company from the jungle calls and heavy basslines that have come to mark the producer's work. The track builds strongly towards the second half, until it breaks into a heated four-on-the-floor beat that will have you going wild. Hold on to your hats, your ass, or whatever else might be shaking, as this is one ride you won't want to miss.
