The silence is broken, and Japanese producer,Daisuke Tanabe, returns with a full-length 15 track LP on Ki Records. For Daisuke, a revisitation to the German imprint marks a homecoming within his career. As one of the label's initial releasing artists, things have only gotten better since the acclaimed Flowers On A Wall issue. Releasing as one-half of Kidsuke, remixing for the likes of Sean Pineiro, Monokle, and Twiceshy, it's apparent he has utilized his time well, and Floating Underwater only testifies to his progressive creativity.
As is the case with most of Tanabe's productions, Floating Underwater blurs lines within the spectrum of genre classifications, but one thing always easy to classify his music as is 'beautiful'. Guiding sudden turns stirred by impulsive twists, it's better to turn off your active mind here, take a more passive listening approach, and let the maestro sway you with his sounds on this album. Get a quick glimpse of what he's cooked up on Floating Underwater (set to drop September 15) with EARMILK's advance stream of "Night Fishing". Slow, lull, and comprised of savvy sampling, the tranquility oozing out of this one will be a great start, continuation, and/or end to your day.
