This colorful track is the first single off of Birthday Boy’s upcoming rookie EP entitled "Colors". The song is called Sacramento, which seems to be appropriate given its summer, west coast vibe. The single not only features original production, but also original vocals done by Birthday Boy himself.
As with Birthday Boy’s minimal other releases, including "Dear Love", this single stays constant with the sound that leaves his audience with no choice other than to dance. His original work, and similarly his collection of remixes (reaching from Mary J. Blidge to Gabriel Garzon-Montano) are reminiscent of another Canadian heavy-hitter, Kaytranada. If what we’ve seen so far is any indication, there will be much more to come from Birthday Boy. "Sacramento" is sure to stir up some excitement over the next week until the "Colors EP release early next week.
