Originally hailing from Australia as a bassist, DJ, and Black Hawk helicopter crewman in the Australian Army, techno producer and sound designer Craig Williams currently resides in Los Angeles, CA where he spends most of his time behind a vintage Yamaha M1516 mixer and a drove of DIY modular synthesizers. A true gear head, when he's not scouring the internet for the latest insane noisemaker or Music Thing Spring Verb module to add to his already brimming collection, Craig reads, learns, and teaches others on the basics of sound design and song writing. Today he comes to us with his latest two-track EP, Saw Throat, complete with sample pack and stems.

One of the most interesting aspects of his music is the fact that nearly all of his sounds have been created with his own gear; even the few samples he uses have been modified beyond recognition. With support from Claude VonStroke, Sinden, and Astronomar, Saw Throat packs a wallop in the bass-heavy sector of modern techno music of current LA underground music.

The first tune, "Saw Throat", hits hard with distorted BNR-style 808s and percussive Dirtybird vox, while "100 MTC" goes a bit deeper with its unique rhythm, undulating bass-heavy kick drum, and reformulation of the Dirtybird vocals. There are no serious detours in their progression, but the inherently dark undertones of both tracks seamlessly flow from haunted woodland forest to classic German warehouse rave, then back again.

Saw Throat is available now on Beatport. For the samples and stems, send your digital purchase receipt of either or both tracks to craigwilliamsmusic@gmail.com.
