Sevdaliza has your new addiction. Coming from Holland by way of Iran, she released her debut track, “Clear Air,” on March 5th. Turn up your subs, and get dizzy. Thick tones and shaker drones drive the lows low. Sparse squealing synths make for an infectious hook, taking over the high end. The minimalistic composition and disparate tones create a lot of natural space. Sevdaliza capitalizes with metallic reverbed vocals that take over the middling space.
The bridge has multiple pitched vocal layers (“Your love is poison”) and a compressed bass that’s almost subterranean, brought to the surface with a bit of overdrive. The industrial percussion brings us back to the surface with the chorus. The clamor for Sevdaliza is almost as big as her bass.
