San Francisco based DJ and producer, Mikos Da Gawd, is the man behind the most interesting remix of Eve's "Tambourine" I've ever heard. I haven't bumped Eve in ages so this rework was a kind reminder of the awkward high school dances and shower parties that featured her music on the regular. Mikos' "Tambourine" remix, however, is significantly different from the original. The slower beat, lowered pitch and thickened bassline plays on the characteristics of a screwed (not chopped) track while remaining mindful of the party track's original upbeat tempo.
Mikos' creativity really shines through in this remix, but that's something to get used to. If there's one thing about this DJ/producer, it's that he's bound to surprise you with something unconventional. So after you've jammed to his rework of "Tambourine," make your way over to his brilliant remix of R. Kelly's "Ignition" 'cause you should also add that to your playlist.
