New York shall always be known for its hustle and bustle, its vibrancy, and its never-ending activity. In a sense, New Yorker Jeffrey Tonnesen aka Tonnesen transposes these characteristics onto his remix of fellow New Yorker ,Bridget Kelly's "Special Delivery". Having established himself as a force to be reckoned with in the NYC scene, this "Special Delivery" remix is an aptly titled track that serves as my, and maybe your, introduction to Tonnesen.
Kelly's original has a decidedly more R&B pop sound that is guided by soft piano notes and relaxed percussive strikes. Tonnesen, on the other hand, flips the script by introducing more pronounced drum kicks and flittery snares that lead into a deep bassline drop. Regardless of these new elements, Kelly's vocals are still featured prominently throughout Tonnesen's rework with nary a change. Powerful and soulful is what Kelly emanates in her original; Tonnesen keeps this but amps up the energy and makes it more club-friendly. Stream the remix and view the original's official video below.
