Today we're excited to premiere Lifelike's remix of synth-pop band Futurecop's new single, "Atlantis 1997", the first track off their highly anticipated debut album. Since 2007, when university friends Pete Carrol and Manzur Iqbal first collaborated due to their similar music tastes and mutual love of the 80's, production duo Futurecop! have been making catchy, synth driven beats together with a sound that might appeal to fans of artists such as Kavinsky and M83.
Hailing from France, Laurent Ash, aka Lifelike, has found musical success since 2005, when his dance music anthem "Discopolis" reached the top of the Beatport Main Chart for several weeks. He has collaborated with notable artists such as Alan Braxe and Kris Menace, all of whom have leant him massive support throughout subsequent years. His remix of "Atlantis 1997" is an upbeat track with heavy Italo Disco influences and a sound that is unmistakably 80's inspired. Catchy vocals performed by Rico Vitali of Cavaliers of Fun are complimented by Lifelike's French touch remixing talent. The result is an undeniably infectious song perfect for late nights grooving on the dance floor.
