John Talabot's ƒin is arguably my favorite album of 2012 (I even said so in my Top Albums of 2012 so far guest post at A Volta, if it's on virtual paper you know it's true). So well-favored, in fact, that I'm on the verge of overplaying it, so you can guess how stoked I was to see that he has a remix EP coming out on October 26 on Permanent Vacation. Below is a preview of the remix EP, with the Kenton Slash Demon take on "Last Land" and Pachanga Boys' purple remix of "When The Past Was Present". If you liked ƒin, these are definitely worth allowing a visit to your ears. If you didn't like ƒin, you probably listened to the wrong album.

The most exciting thing about this release might just be the "Vol. 1" in the title — implying a Vol. 2 to follow. Bring on the Talabot refixes because I can't get enough!

A When The Past Was Present – Pachanga Boys Purple Remix
B1 When The Past Was Present – Pachanga Boys Red Remix
B2 When The Past Was Present – Pachanga Boys Blue Remix
10“ Vinyl
