With the release of his debut album, They Die By Dawn and Other Short Stories looming ever near, Jeymes Samuel (better known by his moniker The Bullitts) began a weekly series last Sunday  that will feature the release of one previously unreleased song each Sunday leading up until the release of his debut LP.

Composed of unfinished demos and what Samuel described as "phone memos", none of the songs in the series will land on the album. Nevertheless, "new" music from The Bullitts is a treat nonetheless. The first song in the series "Raining" is beautiful acoustic number that was written and recorded six years ago according to Samuel.

The second installment from the Sunday Songs series is a brooding and cinematic score that includes some surprising industrial percussion and is perfect example of The Bullitts' distinctive "action and adventure" sound.

To compensate for the lack of vocals included on "To Catch A Thief", The Bullitts unveiled and an additional acoustic song this past Sunday entitled, "Live & Learn" With the release of the complementary song Samuel openly admitted,  "You can hear me literally making it up as I'm singing. The fun thing about these memos is that you will end up hearing fully recorded versions of these songs with other artists in the future."

While The Bullitts has a "gazillion song ideas" floating around and is mulling over the idea of releasing a collection of phone memos, it's safe to say whether half-baked or fully realized The Bullitts never fails to put out some solid material.

Fans of The Bullitts and hip-hop enthusiasts alike will be glad to know The Bullitts' produced song "Run & Hide" will reportedly be include on Jay Electronica's long-awaited debut album, Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn). For kicks stream "Run & Hide" below and be sure to look out for The Bullitts' They Die By Dawn and Other Short Stories and enjoy the free gems he lets loose in the meantime.
