Meet Charmelyx, an independent artist working at the intersection of art-pop, electronic music, and visual worldbuilding.
Blending ethereal vocals with cinematic electronic production, Charmelyx draws listeners into an immersive sonic universe.
Charmelyx’s newest release, “Edenism,” is as atmospheric and otherworldly as it is dynamic. The vocals are clean and angelic, with clear comparisons to artists like FKA twigs, Thom Yorke, early Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Grimes shaping the broader sonic lineage.
Beginning in a ballad-like form, the song gradually expands into more experimental territory as it progresses, reflecting its shift from perceived serenity into something more unstable and synthetic.
The production leaves plenty of space for the vocals to soar, with reverbed drums creating an open, atmospheric foundation that allows the vocal reverb and delay to swirl and expand freely.
On the meaning behind the track, Charmelyx explains: “‘Edenism’ is about the human desire to find paradise and the attempt to recreate it when it cannot be found in reality. In the world of the song, consciousness is copied, placed into an artificial angelic form, and kept inside a simulated Eden. What first appears to be salvation slowly reveals itself as a system designed to keep the soul trapped. The track is also accompanied by an official music video, extending the same audiovisual world and atmosphere behind the release.”
“Edenism” serves as a strong entry point for listeners drawn to crystalline vocals and the expansive, experimental sensibilities of electronic music.
