New Jersey born and bred and now Los Angeles based The Romance is the musical project of singer-songwriter and musician Cody Hoffman who creates expansive, emotional-driven alternative rock that is deeply infectious as it is cathartic. The artist has just unleashed his new single "Victim Of Love". The track is his first release of the year following last year's singles "Tell Ur Friends" and "I'm Not Crazy" which charted at #64 on the Top 40 Billboard.

With "Victim of Love", The Romance collaborates with co writer Kevin "THRASHER" Gruft, who has produced and written music with everyone from MGK to Jellyroll and BLINK-182. The duo have created a pop punk meets alternative rock banger all about stories of love, connection, heartbreak and self-destruction. Lyrics including, "Gunna self-destruct / It's in my nature / She don't give a f*ck / Who could blame her / Think about you / It's automatic," show this narrative.

Musically, "Victim of Love" thrills with melodic guitar riffs, rolling drums and thumping bass. Emotive vocals that sing an anthem sing-a-long worthy chorus elevate the track into a full-blown release of emotional adrenaline, the kind that begs to be shouted from the front row. Hoffman's delivery is raw yet controlled, riding the edge of vulnerability and rebellion in a way that feels both personal and universal. The production is massive without losing heart, balancing hooks built for arenas with lyrics that hit like late-night confessions.

“Victim of Love” cements The Romance as a force in modern alternative rock, blending emotional intensity with undeniable commercial appeal. It’s a soundtrack for anyone who has felt trapped by their own heart, addicted to the chaos of love even when it hurts. A fierce and unforgettable return, the single proves Cody Hoffman isn’t just making songs, he’s building an emotional world listeners can lose themselves in. Check him out this November, as he tours with Smallpools, performing this new music live for the first time.
