After releasing an extended collection of works just earlier this year, New York DJ/ producer Will Sass taps in Emilia Ali for an unforgettable slice of deep house.
"Out Your Head" provides a feeling I haven't felt on first listen for an electronic track since my early days of first listening to Flume. Will Sass is a New Yorker who embodies the multi cultural, high spirited energy of the communities around him and his music delivers on translating those experiences into authentic sounds that depict real emotions rather than imitate beats.
"Out Your Head" provides an exploration of this emotion, firing on all cylinders right out the gate. The Emilia Ali assisted track features this kaleidoscope of different sounds that ping off one another subtly in the background, while Ali's soft, melancholic vocals keep me grounded in the foreground. The track utilizes layers upon layers of moving pieces, but never sounds busy, mimicking the hectic yet always focused living of N.Y residents, resulting in a track that years a second listen upon a third listen.
